Earlier this month neighbors in the 1600/1700 block vicinity of Loraine left their garage door open and a snow blower and a lawnmower were stolen. A blue pick-up truck was noticed in the neighborhood.

The Lansing City Council will be meeting Monday, August 14th, 7:00 pm. at the City Hall Council Chambers. They will be voting on the Rezoning Request for Victor Avenue.
This would rezone the property west of the street behind Hobart/Walker (the old gun
shop location) to the first house on the south side of Victor from single family residences

The Targeted Façade Improvement Matching Grant Program will provide up to $15,000 in one-to-one reimbursed matching funds for new permanent structural and aesthetic improvements in critical areas of the City. The Lansing Parks Board receives complaints throughout the year about deer in city parks and neighborhoods. Park Board members have begun to study the issue and gather information. "Our goal is to create scientifically sound data that will allow the board to facilitate neighborhood programs about co-existing with the urban deer herd and for population control, especially for containment of Chronic Wasting Disease." according to Parks Board member James McClurken..

Prizes were awarded to contest winners. Thank you to four young creative writers who submitted entries to the first CVNA writing contest. The contest was for children ages (6-8) (8-11) and ages (12 & 13). Each winner received a prize of $15. Congratulations to: Emily Putman, Makenna Smieska and Allyric Patterson.
